If you want to achieve satisfactory results when gun drilling deep holes, you must flexibly use the characteristics of gun drilling system software (including tools, CNC lathes, tooling fixtures, accessories, product workpieces, control modules, coolant and operation processes). The technical level of the operator is also important. According to the structural characteristics of the product workpiece, the strength of the raw materials of the product workpiece and the working conditions and quality regulations of the deep hole machining CNC lathe, the color processing characteristics can be obtained by selecting reasonable cutting parameters, feed rate, tool geometry parameters, cemented carbide model and coolant parameters.
Straight slot gun drill is widely used in production and processing. According to the size of the gun drill and the condition of a part of the transmission system, the handle and the inner cooling hole of the blade, the gun drill can be made into one-piece type and flange type. The coolant sprays out from the small round hole on the surface of the rear knife. The gun drill can have one or two annular heat dissipation holes, or an independent waist hole.
The standard gun drill can process holes with a diameter of 1.5mm to 76.2mm, and milling deep layers can reach 100 times the diameter. The unique customized gun drill can process shallow holes with a diameter of 152.4mm and a deep depth of 5080mm. Although the feed per revolution of gun drill is low, its feed per minute is larger than that of twist drill (the feed per minute is equivalent to the feed per revolution multiplied by the rotation speed ratio of tool or product workpiece). Because the blade is made of cemented carbide, the cutting amount of gun drill is much higher than that of spring steel twist drill. This increases the feed rate of the gun drill per minute. In addition, when high-pressure coolant is applied, its cutting can be reasonably discharged from the machined hole without withdrawing the tool on time in the whole milling process.
