Gun drill can be used not only to process deep holes (height diameter > 10), but also to process high-precision shallow holes. Gun drill processing generally consists of drill handle, drill pipe and drill bit welded together by electric welding. There is a buried hole in the middle of the gun drill, which is a safe channel for cutting oil to join the drilling area. The drill bit is a key part of all gun drills. The drill handle transmits torque between the machine tool and the drill bit, and the sealing high-pressure oil. The high rotation precision between the drill handle and the drill pipe can prevent additional vibration and improve the machining accuracy and stability. A smooth arc-shaped concave groove for removing in-situ stress is arranged at the head and neck where the drill handle is connected with the boring cutter to prevent damage due to stress. The drill pipe is made of high-quality alloy steel through cold rolling, heat treatment and straightening. The drill pipe is rolled with a "V" groove of 118 ° ~ 120 ° for milling. In order to ensure the straightness and inclination of the drilling hole, the drill pipe must have sufficient compressive strength to give the torsional torque required for drilling under small torsional deformation. At the same time, the blade must have sufficient ductility to absorb the vibration caused by the high-speed rotation of the blade. Therefore, the material selection, heat treatment process and cold rolling process of drill pipe are very strict.
The drill bit has two basic angles: external angle and internal angle (refer to gun drill grinding angle). It can select the most appropriate composition according to the material and diameter of the workpiece to be drilled, so as to better balance the cutting speed and cutting, and transmit the cutting speed to the shoulder of the support point to ensure excellent straightness and parallelism.
The drill bit has a small inverted cone, and the diameter is slightly larger than that of the boring cutter. It can ensure that the drill pipe rotates freely in the drilling hole and is not easy to rub the inner wall of the hole. Gun drill is processed into forced milling surface. The high-pressure cutting fluid enters the internal thread of gun drill from the drill handle, reaches the drilling area, and carries out refrigeration and lubrication on the drilling edge.
