Gun drill is generally welded together by electric welding of drill handle, drill pipe and drill bit. The drill pipe is made of high-quality alloy steel through cold rolling, heat treatment, straightening and other processes. The drill pipe is rolled with a "V" groove of 118 ° ~ 120 ° for chip removal. In order to ensure the verticality and inclination of the drilling hole, the drill pipe must have sufficient compressive strength to give the torsional torque required for drilling under small torsional deformation. At the same time, the blade must have sufficient ductility, so that it can digest and absorb the vibration caused by the high-speed operation of the blade. Therefore, the material selection, heat treatment and cold rolling process standards of drill pipe are very harsh. The drill handle transmits torque between the NC lathe and the drill bit, with high sealing and high pressure oil. The high rotation accuracy between the drill handle and the drill pipe can prevent additional vibration and improve the machining accuracy and stability. A smooth arc-shaped concave groove for removing pressure is arranged at the head and neck where the drill handle is connected with the boring cutter to prevent damage due to stress.
The gun drill is processed into forced chip removal. The high-pressure cutting fluid enters the internal thread of gun drill from the drill handle, reaches the drilling area, and carries out refrigeration and lubrication on the drilling edge.
